How To Cook Quick And Easy Fried Rice – Tips To Cook The Perfect Fried Rice At Home
Are you in a hurry and with limited time to cook dinner? I have just the solution for you. You can try my quick and easy home cooked fried rice recipe. Whenever I find myself with so little time to fix dinner, I will always cook my quick and easy fried rice. It is quick to prepare and on top of that it is delicious as well as nutritious. My home cooked fried rice is always better than the instant packet noodles.
Fried rice is a very common dish served in nearly all the Chinese restaurants and definitely considered an Asian cuisine. There are so many types of fried rice such as fried rice with salted fish, village fried rice, Malaysian fried rice, Thai fried rice, spicy fried rice, special fried rice etc etc.
For me....anything that I can find in my kitchen can be the ingredients into my so called special home cooked fried rice.
Here are my cooking tips on what I do whenever I am cooking this at home.
This is a simple basic quick and easy recipe for fried rice that you can add anything to as desired. If you want to add other ingredients, just add the number of eggs to 3.
Ingredients:
1/4 large sweet white onion
1/2 bag frozen peas and carrots
2 large eggs
3 tablespoons peanut oil for stir-frying
3 cups cold cooked rice
2 tablespoons light soy sauce
Preparation:
Wash and finely chop the 1/4 large sweet white onion.
Heat a frying pan and add the 3 tablespoon cooking oil. When the oil is hot, add the finely chopped onions. When the onions is golden brown at the sides, add the rice. Stir fry, for about 3 minutes. Make a well at the center of the fried rice.
Add the eggs at the center of the fried rice. Fry the eggs until they are lightly scrambled but not too dry. Mix the lightly scrambled eggs with the rest of the fried rice.
Add the 1/2 bag frozen peas and carrots. Stir-fry for a few minutes. Stir in the soy sauce. Mix thoroughly. Serve hot. Serves 3 to 5 people.
1) It is best to use left over rice that is kept in the fridge. Therefore if you plan to cook fried rice the following day, you can cook more the night before and keep the leftover rice in the fridge.
2) The rice to be fried need to be loosen up. If the rice is sticking together, it need to be separated. You can use your fingers to separate the rice.
3) I normally stir fry the onions before frying the rice. This is to ensure that the onions are nice and fragrant. When I stir fry the rice I can focus on ensuring I get the right texture for my fried rice. Then I will add the eggs on the center of the fried rice. Once the eggs are nicely scrambled, I will only add the peas and carrots. After 2 minutes, I will then add the 2 tablespoons light soy sauce. My method only take about 10 minutes. It is definitely quick and easy fried rice.
4) You need to ensure that the frying pan is hot with the cooking oil. Adjust the flame of the fire to ensure a well heated frying pan.
5) You need to stir fry the ingredients and rice thoroughly. You need to stir fry quite fast and ensure that the rice does not burn.
6) You can put any food as ingredient for the fried rice. The above recipe is just for a basic and simple fried rice. If you find that you have some left over cooked fish, meat and even shrimps, you can add these in too.
